Dry Pepper Chicken

Ingredients:
  • Chicken – 1/2 kg cleaned with bone
  • Oil – 3 Tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf – 1 Tbsp
  • Onion – 2 large sliced thinly
  • Green Chilli – 3
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 Tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder  – 1 Tsp
  • Coriander Powder  – 2 Tbsp
  • Garam Masala Powder – 2 Tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh Ground Pepper – 2 Tbsp
  • Lemon Juice to taste
  • Coriander Leaves / Cilantro for garnishing
Method
  1. Heat oil in a Pan. Add in fennel seeds and let them crackle
  2. Now add in onions, curry leaves and green chilli. Saute for 5 to 10 mins till it turns light golden
  3. Now add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min
  4. Add in all the spice powders and salt and mix well.Now add in chicken and toss well with the masala
  5. Cover the pan and let it cook for 30 to 40 mins till the chicken is cooked.Now open the pan and cook on a high heat and let the masala gets dry.
  6. Add in fresh ground pepper and toss well.Squeeze in some lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. Serve with rice or any bread.
