Chicken Gravy Recipe | Tamil Nadu style (without Coconut)

Ingredients
  • 1/2kg Chicken
  • 15 Sambar Onions or 2 Big Onions
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic Paste
  • 1 Tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Curd
  • 6 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seed
  • 3 Red Chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Curry leaves
Method Preparation
  • Heat the Pan in low flame, put 6 Tbsp oil and then add mustard seeds, curry leaves and 3 Red Chilli. After a minute, sprinkle finely chopped 15 small onions into the pan.
  • Fry the chopped onions until it gets a brownish colour and then add finely chopped 3 tomatoes
  • Mash the mixture in the cooker gently, mash (and cook) the tomatoes until it becomes mediumly mashed and then add salt to taste.
  • Now, after a minute add 1 Tsp ginger garlic paste and then add 1 Tsp chilli powder , 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder, 1 Tbsp coriander powder.
  • Cook this mixture for 2 mins and then add the chicken pieces, 2 Green Chilli and one glass of water.
  • Add salt as per taste and then leave it for half an hour
  • After half an hour, add 2 Tbsp curd wait for 1 minute
  • Chicken Gravy is ready.Serve with Rasam rice or Chapathi.
