Tomato Chutney Recipe | Tamil Nadu style

Ingredients
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 3 Red Chillies
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 Tsp Mustard seed
  • 1 Tsp Cumin seed
  • 2 Garlic clove
  • Chopped curry leaves
Preparation Method
  1. Heat 1 Tbsp Oil in a pan, add 1 Tsp Mustard seed, 1Tsp Cumin seeds, 3 Red Chilli and then add  Chopped curry leaves. After about 10 seconds add chopped onions, sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  2. After 2 minutes add Chopped tomatoes(2) and 2 Garlic cloves. Cook this for just 2 minutes.
  3. Allow it to cool completely and blend it in a mixer/blender until it gets a smooth paste-like property. Keep this aside.
  4. Heat the remaining 1 Tbsp of oil in a small non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds.
  5. When the seeds crackle, add the Chopped Curry Leaves and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
  6. Remove from the flame and pour this tempering over the chutney and mix well.
  7. Serve immediately or store refrigerated in an air-tight container for 2 days.
