Bread Patties

 Ingredients:

  • Potato boiled - 1
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • Green chilies finely chopped - 3
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp
  • Chaat Masala - 1/2 Tsp
  • Chili powder - 2 Tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/4 Tsp
  • Besan /gram flour - 1 Cup
  • Rice Flour - 1/4 Cup
  • Pinch of Hing
  • Coriander Leaves few
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for fry
 Instructions:

Potato filling

  1. Boil, Peel and mash potatoes well.
  2. Heat 1Tsp oil in a pan , add Cumin Seeds, pinch of Hing, Ginger Garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Add finely chopped Green chilies,1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder and saute for 10 seconds. After that add mashed Potato and then add Salt and Chat Masala mix.
  4. At last  add chopped Coriander leaves and mix well. Remove the stuffing from the heat and allow it to cool down completely.
For Batter
  1. In a large bowl, add Gram flour, Rice Flour,1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder, 2 tsp Red Chili Powder, Baking soda and Salt to taste. Add 2 tbsp. hot oil in this batter.
  2. Gradually add water and mix well. Whisk well. More you whisk the batter, it will be lighter and Patties will be soft and fluffier. 
  3.  Cut bread slices in to a desired shape. Now put Potato stuffing and spread it evenly with your palms. Put the other slice on top. Keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil for deep fry. Let's check if oil has become hot enough. Put few drops of batter. If it rises up on the surface immediately, then oil is hot enough. If it sinks, then oil in not sufficiently hot.
  5. Dip stuffed Bread slices in batter and coat well. Drip the excess batter. Do not keep bread slices in batter for long. It may become soggy and may break while frying. 
  6. Put coated bread slices in Oil. Fry Bread Patties from both sides on low-medium heat until it becomes golden brown in color. In about 2 mins, Bread Patties is ready. Remove from Oil.
  7. Serve with Dry Garlic-Coconut Chutney
