Discard the outer covering of the cabbage and chop it finely or grate it.
Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat. Add the Mustard seeds and Urad Dal. Allow them to crackle.
Now add Chana Dal and Saute till Chana Dal becomes light golden brown in color.
And then add the Curry Leaves, Green Chili , Cabbage and Salt to taste.
Sprinkle some water and cover the pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the cabbage is steamed and ready to eat. Don’t overcook the cabbage should have a crunch .
Once done, add the Freshly grated coconut, give the Cabbage Fry a mix and check the salt. Add more coconut if required. Turn off the heat .
Serve the Cabbage fry with Rasam , Rice, Dal, Chapati or Roti
