Palak (Spinach) moong dal dry fry Recipe | North Indian style

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 Bunch of spinach
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Tsp Mustard  seeds
  • 1 Tsp  Chilli Powder
  • 1  Big onion sliced
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Curry Leaves
Preparation Method
  1. Wash the bunch of spinach and chopped .Add salt and chilli powder. Mix well with spinach and leave for 15 mins
  2. Soak Moong dal for 15-30 mins and drain the excess water.Keep it aside.
  3. Heat the pan with oil and then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chopped curry leaves.
  4. When they starts to splutter add sliced onion.Fry the onions  until it gets a brownish color and then add moong dal .
  5. Fry it for 5-10 mins and add spinach .Fry it for  15 mins.Don't cover it.
  6. Palak moong dal fry is ready.
  7. Serve with chapathi or Rice.
