TomatoRice Recipe | Tamil Nadu style

Ingredients


  • 2 Cup Boiled Rice
  • 1 Big Onion      
  • 2 Big Tomatoes
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • 1 Tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Channa dal
  • 1 Tbsp Urad dal
Roast and grind
      Heat the pan in low flame and then add channa dal .Roast it for 5 mins.and then add urad dal .Roast it for 5 mins.Cool the mixture and grind it.

Method Preparation
  • Heat the Pan in low flame, put 2 Tbsp oil and then add mustard seeds, curry leaves and 3 Green Chilies. After a minute, sprinkle finely chopped 1 Big onions into the pan.
  • Fry the chopped onions until it gets a brownish color and then add finely chopped 2 tomatoes.
  • Mash the mixture in the cooker gently, mash (and cook) the tomatoes until it becomes medium mashed and then add salt to taste.
  • Now, after a minute add and then add 1 Tsp chilli powder , 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder,2 Tbsp coriander powder.
  • Cook this mixture for 2 mins and then add grinded powder,Add some water.
  • And then leave it for 5 mins.Add Boiled Rice wait for 1 minute.
  • Tomato Rice is ready.
