Prawns chukka (dry fry)|Tamilnadu style
Ingredients
- 200g Prawns
- 1 big Onion
- 2 Tomato
- 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 Tsp mustard seeds
- 1 Tsp fennel seeds
- 1 Tsp cumin seeds
- 1 Tsp chilli powder
- 2 Tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
- Chopped curry leaves
- 6 Tbsp oil
- Salt as needed
- Firstly, after cleaning and deveining the prawns wash them well with water and drain the excess water.
- For preparing prawns dry fry, take a vessel, add in prawns, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, ginger paste, curry leaves and salt ,and mix well
- keep it in refrigerator for 30 mins.
- Take a frying pan, add oil and heat it.
- Add mustard seeds, fennel and cumin seeds and then add sprinkle chopped onions into the pan
- Fry the chopped onions until it gets a brownish color and then add finely chopped tomatoes.
- Add the prawns into the heated oil.
- Stir the mixture well with the oil and stir it delicately.
- Add fresh curry leaves into the cooking prawns.
- Cook the prawns for about 10 -15 minutes and give a stir in between
- Ready to be served with dal rice or can be eaten plain
