Tips for soft chapathi
Ingredients
- Wheat flour-1 cup
- Salt as needed
- Warm water
- Oil
Preparation
- To get really soft chapatis, the trick lies in the kneading.
- Put one cup of flour in a bowl. Add salt and1/4 cup of warm water little by litle and mix well.
- Then Add oil to the dough.
Another secret to soft Chapatis is using warm water instead of normal water to make the dough.When you're done kneading the dough and it is smooth,- Cover the bowl and let it rest for 3hours.
When you are ready to make chapatis put the tawa on the stove and let it heat up.- Divide the dough into lime size balls.
- Roll the dough into a round on a flat smooth surface using a rolling pin.
- Place the chapati on the hot pan. Let it cook for 10-15 seconds until bubbles start to form on top.
- Flip the chapati and cook for 30 seconds more. Gently press on top of the chapati to make the chapati fluff up.
- Flip one more time and press on top.
- Soft Chapati ready.
